Lentink and the environment.
In the following letter we inform about Lentink and the environment;
"What does Lentink stand for as an organization with regard to European environmental policy"?
Which environmental objectives does Lentink follow and how does Lentink assess these objectives as an organization in its production chain?
European environmental policy.
The environmental policy of the European Union focuses on protecting and improving the living environment. Elements of the environmental policy are, for example, protecting endangered species, guaranteeing the quality of drinking water and reducing and eliminating the negative effects of harmful substances.
Main objectives:
- Cleaning up pollution and preventing further pollution.
- Preventing excessive use of natural resources.
- Preventing strong damage to nature and landscape.
Lentink confirms itself to the environmental policy.
Our management ensures on a daily basis that we follow this policy together within and, as far as possible for us, outside of Lentink. Lentink is tested annually on this policy by, among others, Veritas and EcoVadis. Bureau Veritas helps organizations to meet client requirements and expectations through certification of management systems. In addition, certification can demonstrate that an organization complies with relevant laws and regulations (compliance). Ecovadis is a global organization that audits companies broadly on their environmental and social policy; (CSR)
EcoVadis?
EcoVadis has been chosen by large global multinationals to evaluate their global supplier base in more than 95 countries. EcoVadis aims to improve the environmental and social practice of companies by using the influence on global production chains.

Taking care of the environment of tomorrow together.
LENTINK : Environmental protection on your own initiative and responsibility.
Lentink as a production process developer, dedicated problem solver and service provider in the metal sheet production environment, stamping and molding technology, as well as in cleaning and surface technology, we are aware of our responsibility for an intact environment, the living space of current and future generations to secure. For sustainable business development, it is very important for us to make our processes environmentally friendly, energy conscious, efficient and compliant in all our business areas. To meet this guiding principle, the continuous improvement of the environmental management system and the environmental performance are in the foreground. The following guidelines form the basis for our environmental policy:
We undertake to comply with all applicable environmental rules, laws and regulations and to continuously improve our environmental performance.
Core topics of the Lentink environmental program:
- Sustainable product developments
- Management of waste streams such as wood and metals.
- Soil protection
-
Noise pollution
- Reuse raw materials
- Minimizing and eliminating oils. (organic natural products)
- Sustainable use of energy.
Production.
Our business activities have been optimized to minimize the negative impact on the environment. We minimize the emissions and use of raw materials and energy production where possible. Our production processes are regularly evaluated for environmental friendliness every year, if necessary they are adjusted and improved. We identify the environmental impact of existing and anticipated new activities, products and services, to take appropriate measures to protect the environment. We regard compliance with legal provisions as a matter of course.
Employee.
We systematically and regularly inform and qualify our employees in the areas of corporate environmental protection, health and safety at work and actively support them in implementing meaningful, economic ideas and suggestions for improving environmental management and corporate environmental protection. Our employees bear their responsibility in this.
Management.
We regard environmental protection as a management task and therefore our managers are responsible for implementing the defined environmental objectives. The managers fulfill a clear role model function. At the same time, we demand that all our employees act responsibly and environmentally friendly on a daily basis. Every week one of our managers holds the "Gemba Walk" (5S) throughout the entire factory. Our Managers assess all departments in the workplace with regard to possible areas for improvement. Possible improvement actions or processes, as a follow-up to those observations, must be scheduled in the following week. (continuous improvement process)
Circular economy.
We ensure that waste is avoided and inevitably waste is recycled or disposed of in an environmentally friendly way. We continuously follow the procedures for the prevention, reduction, recovery and disposal of waste in our company.
We also reduce pollution and waste through a circular economy or a circular economy. In the circular economy, products are reused or recycled, rather than thrown away. Within Lentink as an organization, certain issues, such as air and water pollution, are not on the agenda because Lentink simply does not generate that pollution, and otherwise operates far within the norms.
Prevention.
To protect air, soil and water, Lentink has taken appropriate preventive measures and emergency plans for possible accidents on its own initiative to reduce the risks and consequences of emergency situations. We strive to prevent environmental damage under all operating conditions and strive, as far as economically feasible, for the best available state of the art.
Means.
We use resources and energy, deliberately and sparingly, pay attention to the environmental friendliness of the products used and minimize the occurrence of polluting emissions through appropriate technical and organizational measures. In doing so, we follow the principle of the optimal value chain: reduction of resource consumption, recycling, environmentally friendly purchasing. This is how we strive to improve our environmental performance.
Information.
Through active, factual information policy, we create trust among our employees, suppliers, customers and interested parties. In our environmental statement we have defined environmental objectives and measures involving our employees and suppliers. These environmental objectives and measures are subject to continuous monitoring and improvement through established procedures within our Lentink processes.
