Lentink receives Platinum rating for CSR
Believed in and hoped for, but given the weighty criteria by Ecovadis, not considered possible in the short term.
As a company, Lentink scores the highest achievable at Ecovadis:
A Platinum medal as a recognition of our EcoVadis Rating.
Once again, we can only state that we at Lentink are extremely proud of the maximum result that can be achieved this year. For three years in a row, Lentink scored higher and higher within the requirements and criteria of Ecovadis (ISO 26000) by implementing improvements and changes internally following recommendations. As a result, according to the results of the Ecovadis audit, Lentink now belongs to the 1% of metal companies in more than 160 countries in the world, which have an excellent overall score.
Our commitment to sustainability and CSR
Sustainable and responsible entrepreneurship are one of our most important drivers. Therefore, leading our industry as a socially responsible company is one of our top priorities. We want to ensure that sustainability practices are fully integrated into our operations by promoting transparency, employee engagement and our code of ethics.
The Ecovadis methodology is based on international sustainability standards, including the Global Reporting Initiative, the United Nations Global Compact and ISO 26000 , which covers 200 spending categories and more than 160 countries. The Sustainability Scorecard illustrates Lentink's performance as an organization on 21 indicators in five themes:
- Overall company score,
- Environment,
- Labor & Human Rights,
- Sustainable Procurement &
- Ethics.
Ecovadis methodology explained:
The EcoVadis sustainability assessment methodology is central to its Ratings and Scorecards and is an evaluation of how well Lentink has integrated the principles of sustainability / CSR into its business and management system. This is based on seven basic principles:
- Assessment by international experts,
- Tailor-made for sector, country and company size,
- Diversification of information sources to ensure that stakeholder input is sufficiently varied for reliable scoring,
- Using technology to ensure a secure and confidential process and accelerated cycle time,
- Traceability and transparency of documentation,
- Evidence based,
- Excellence through constant improvement.
What is corporate social responsibility?
With corporate social responsibility (CSR) we take into account the consequences of our actions on people, the environment and society. Climate change, working conditions, aging; just a few terms that you could also associate with corporate social responsibility. What you, as a human being, also understand by Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR), the fact is that ultimately it is about taking responsibility for society as a company. By taking account of climate neutrality, circularity, inclusivity and / or fair chains in activities and processes, a company is future-proof.
Examples of CSR at Lentink are:
- Extra attention to good working conditions for our staff.
- We do business sustainably, we save energy and we use raw materials in a smart way.
- In the (socially responsible) purchasing of products and services, we pay attention not only to the price, but also to the effects of purchasing on people and the environment.
- We reduce CO₂ emissions where applicable.
- We do business fairly. We do not abuse power through, for example, corruption (bribery or extortion).
- We provide honest and clear information to customers.
- We are involved in the community in which we operate.
The world organization for standardization ISO drew up ISO 26000, a 'Guidance on Social Responsibility'. This is a worldwide guideline for Corporate Social Responsibility. ISO 26000 lists seven core themes in the context of CSR.
The core themes are:
- management of the organization;
- human rights;
- Working Conditions;
- environment;
- doing honest business;
- consumer affairs;
- community involvement and development.
Naturally, after achieving this platinum result, Lentink will continue to improve and automate procedures and quality subjects to achieve zero defects. “Always doing one step better” is part of our corporate culture.
