BHV course day
Lentink's BHV group welcomes you
the new growth of emergency response officers, namely:
Thomas, Anouk, Halis, Mees, Ben, Nancy, Ivo and Tim
No less than 8 people had registered to expand the existing group of emergency response officers within Lentink.
First of all, everyone followed an e-learning at home. The theoretical part of 22 modules had to be completed with a passing grade before participating in the emergency response course.
The students were expected on Wednesday 1 February at 08:30 in the Hamelandhal in Lichtenvoorde. The course was provided by Saluvit education and training.
Together with students from different companies, the group was then split into two.
The course consisted of a half day 'first aid' and a half day 'firefighting and evacuation'.
The first aid consisted of:
- CPR + the use of an AED. This was also all practiced on a dummy;
- What to do in case of suffocation: perform the Heimlich maneuver in case of a blockage of the airways;
- Wound treatment and bandaging;
- What to do with a leg fracture / open bone fracture.
Fire fighting and evacuation consisted of:
- Discuss different types of extinguishers. Which extinguisher is suitable for which fire and which is not;
- Discuss different types of gases;
- Discuss fire detectors;
- Practice outside with the group with a fire blanket (flame in the pan) and extinguish a fire;
- A role play between the students.
In between the companies we were provided with a nice lunch.
The course was over at 5:00 PM. Everyone from Lentink passed and now belongs to the group of emergency response officers.
It was a very instructive day for everyone, with the aim of providing first aid to our people and visitors within Lentink as best as possible, if necessary.
These 8 new colleagues will now complement Lentink's already enthusiastic BHV group.
I wish everyone success
Tim Benink
